Friday Feature Artist // Anita Davies

This weeks feature artist is Anita Davies; an incredibly talented woman who has a magical way with watercolours. I am a big lover of watercolours but am still a novice and have a lot more learning to do. The thing I like the most about Anita's work is that she paints everyday and her subjects are usually things she sees during the day.

Born on 5th April 1968, Anita spent her childhood in Hertfordshire where she acquired 'O' level and 'A' level in art, before moving to the Fens in 1991. In 2003 Anita began her "artistic journey". Self taught, she currently works in a variety of media, her inspiration drawn from a passion of light and vision; seeing the "hidden treasures" in everyday life and each subjects beauty, seeking to capture character and emotion in her work. Anita's work is held in private collections worldwide. She has carried out commissions on a variety of subjects, particularly portraiture, and has also written a monthly column in the Fenland Citizen and a weekly illustrated column in the Cambs Times and Wisbech Standard newspapers. Make sure you check out her blog and flickr.

Hope you all have a fantastic weekend :)
